Basalt fiber reinforced (BFRP) is based on basalt fiber reinforced material and synthetic resin (unsaturated polyester, epoxy resin, vinyl resin, etc.) and the filler, curing agent, such as substrate, the combination of pultrusion process by forming a new type of composite materials. In contrast to the steel bar, the density of basalt fiber reinforcement is 1.9 ~ 2.1g/cm3, which is about 1/4 of the reinforcement (the density of steel is 7.8 ~ 7.9). The tensile yield strength of basalt fiber reinforcement is 2 ~ 3 times that of reinforcement, and its thermal expansion coefficient is similar to that of concrete, ensuring the synchronous deformation of concrete and steel bar. Basalt fiber reinforcement is a kind of non-rusted electrical insulator, which is non-magnetic, especially: it has extremely high acid resistance and alkali resistance. Moisture concentration of cement mortar and the penetration and diffusion of carbon dioxide has high permissibility, can prevent the corrosion of concrete structures under harsh environment, so as to improve the durability of buildings.
